Special-Purpose Machines and Innovative Manufacturing Processes
In addition to our standard machines for cold and hot forming, we regularly offer project-specific special-purpose machines, such as large-scale hydraulic deep-drawing presses, rotary-swaging transfer lines and similar systems.
We are also pleased to support you with upstream and downstream processing operations such as cutting, joining and cleaning. For high-speed cutting of thin-walled tubes, a dedicated machine named ImpulsCut® was developed for adiabatic cutting. We separate tubes with diameters ranging from 15 to 50 mm chiplessly, with virtually no burr formation, at cycle times of just a few seconds
For metallurgical joining, we use high-current pulse welding (capacitor discharge welding, CDW) and medium-frequency welding (MF). We have various systems installed. Depending on their design and configuration, these systems provide 20 to 100 kVA and 50 to 120 kN for high-current pulse welding with intermediate energy storage and precisely timed instantaneous discharge from the capacitor, or 300 kVA to a maximum of 1,000 kVA and 50 kN for medium-frequency welding operating directly from the mains supply.
For form-fit and force-fit joining using innovative electromagnetic pulse forming, we use several magnetic forming systems in our development area and laboratory. With energy capacities from 4.5 to 50 kJ and voltages from 7 to 25 kV, we form the workpiece without contact, solely through the interaction of magnetic forces.
