What does TubeFormTec stand for?
The former IPG-IFUTEC Produktions GmbH was separated from the IFUTEC group at the beginning of 2025 and renamed in TubeFormTec in order to focus on the specialist field of tube forming and to lay the foundation for further self-sustaining growth, potentially together with a suitable partner or key customer. TubeFormTec GmbH is a flexible contract manufacturing partner, increasingly specializing in advanced ultra-lightweight solutions. We offer a broad range of hot- and cold-forming processes and support you from initial process development and testing through to prototype and ramp-up production. We are pleased to handle anything from very small batches to medium-sized series. If your required volumes exceed our own capacity, we will continue to support you actively on your way towards in-house production.
Philosophy / Motivation / Vision
Resource and energy efficiency are defining issues of our time – and a responsibility for our generation. Across all industries, the move towards lightweight design is unstoppable. It is essential both for achieving climate targets and for staying competitive in the increasingly global race for future technologies and brands.
However, a lightweight end product does not automatically mean that its manufacture is resource-efficient in terms of material and energy use. Production processes with extremely high machining rates are still common. In this approach, neither effort nor material is spared in reducing components to their final load-bearing structures (i.e. lightweight design), which initially results in a very high CO₂ footprint. If, in addition to the extensive machining effort, the energy required to produce the raw material is also considered, material and resource efficiency can quickly become counterproductive. This is what we aim to change.
The forming processes preferred by TubeFormTec – starting from tube – ensure maximum utilization of the raw material. The energy balance is also advantageous compared to conventional machining-based manufacturing routes, even when the blank is preheated or subjected to high-force cold forming on heavy-duty machines, thanks to the short processing times involved.
Where others still rely on secondary machining such as drilling and chip removal, we begin with tubular raw material and use only the material actually needed to achieve the required function, forming it directly into its final shape. With our range of hot and cold forming processes, we actively contribute to lightweight design while maximizing material and resource efficiency. It really can be that simple… Would you also like to reduce weight efficiently?
