Rotary Swaging for Precise Forming Processes
Rotary swaging is performed by tool segments (swaging dies) arranged radially around the workpiece and acting on it in rapid oscillating motion. In combination with the simultaneous axial feed of the workpiece, this produces a gradual, incremental forming process. In addition to various stand-alone machines of different designs and leading manufacturers, ranging from size 16 to size 100, we also have a nine-stage transfer line of size 40. This line was most recently used for a renowned automotive manufacturer, where it produced fully finished steering shafts in a fully automated process (see also Special-Purpose Machines) and is now ready for its next assignment.
The various machine sizes generally indicate the maximum outside diameter that can be processed. Depending on the material and the type and extent of forming, we can process tubes with diameters of up to 100 mm and solid bar material with diameters of up to approximately 60 mm, with component lengths of up to 2,000 mm. Depending on the order volume, our systems operate manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically.
