Roll forming for precise beads and grooves

Roll forming on the Rollotronic® systems of our partner company Max Simmel Maschinenbau GmbH is a chipless manufacturing process for forming rotationally symmetric hollow components, such as thin-walled tubular sections or deep-drawn parts By means of controlled radial movement of the internal and/or external forming tools (“rollers”) and their continuous rolling on and inside the workpiece, circumferential beads or grooves are produced.

With our current machine and tooling concept, diameters ranging from 9 to 80 mm, wall thicknesses of up to 2.5 mm, and component lengths of up to 150 mm (larger dimensions can be accommodated upon request) can be processed reliably in cold forming, depending on the material and forming requirement Je nach Auftragsumfang arbeiten unsere Anlagen manuell oder teil- bis vollautomatisiert. Depending on the production volume, our systems can be operated manually or partially to fully automated. In fully automated operation, cycle times ranging from a few seconds to well below one second can be achieved, depending on the component and forming task.

Thanks to our close cooperation with Max Simmel Maschinenbau GmbH, we not only have our existing machines available for regular contract manufacturing, but also fast access to new demonstration and development machines. This continuous exchange supports the practical, application-driven (further) development of processes and the associated machinery.
